Hi, I am moving toward a BA in Pscyh from TESC. I have a license in Radiologic Technology. I did two years of hospitol based training which included Patient Care. I wonder if I could use this in anyway for pscyh. Suggestions pro and con appreciated. I paid the basic tuition but would expand it if it would be viable. Thanks. Hille

I would see if you could identify an actual college course somewhere that closely mirrors your training and do a portfolio assessment. Good luck!

If the patient care in some way included therapy, counseling, or behavior modification techniques and was supervised by a mental health professional- then maybe you can apply for practicum credit. TESC awarded me 3 practicum credits, so they "do" award it. In my case, it fell into free electives- but if you can get it with a psy prefix, and especially at 200 level, it might be worth it. Keep in mind, you have to pay full price tuition, and create a portfolio that documents how you met course competencies- so if you don't have a relationship with your former supervisor- you might have a hard time. The other issue, is that after paying and compiling- they can still deny you. It's a gamble IMO.
