It is tough studying here in Southern California - I am sitting outside in my back yard with a temperature (in the shade) of 78.6 degrees F. The birds are chirping and trying their hardest to interfere with my homework assignment (History WWII). Hungry: I just pick an orange of the tree or a pick a nice vine ripe tomato. It's a hard life but someone has to do it.

I am coming for a visit, too much snow, ice and wind here, so put out an extra chair. And in this economy studying under the warmth of the sun would make life much more pleasant for all.

It's just after 6pm as I write this note. The temp is 27F and the wind is 15 mph. This brings the temp down to 15F. I've got oranges and tomatos in the fridge but the only things sitting out in my yard are the dang sheep. I'm hoping for an early Spring but there's no real sign yet. I'm glad your enjoying your Winter. In my own way I'm enjoying mine.

Right now it's 28F. It's supposed to go down to 12F tonight then up to 38F tomorrow. The forecast says it'll go up to 50F on Thursday and Friday. It's trying to become Spring. I love where I am. It's not about the weather.

It is our summer and its hot with floods and fires. I have just returned home and thought I had run over a snake. I have spent the last half hour inspecting the car to make sure that the little devil is somewhere around the chassis. I think I missed him and he missed me. We are both happy.

So I am looking forward to our winter where the temperatures get around a "very cold" 70 - 78 degrees and I can use a blanket on my bed. Snakes go into hibernation and all is well with the world.

In the interim, I will use sunblock, wear a hat, be hyper vigilant and frequent airconditioned supermarkets. If I can get a visa, I will join you under the tree, and ponder history. But no maths or physics!

I'd never study if I were in CA. I can't stand to be inside when it's beautiful outside. I'm mainly outside from April to November. Fishing, hunting, rollerblading, biking, golfing....I'm miserable if I can't be out and about.
Then again we have about two months of really excellent weather.

Yes, it is a heck of hard thing being in Cali, what with the birds chirping, and scantily clad ladies constantly jogging around while I am trying to study! Damn it!

I am right there with you. I live in Florida so I know what you mean. Maybe this is a good time to suggest that long discussed DegreeInfo get together?

Today it was chilly in the morning, maybe 25F but it went up into the 40s before the day was done. The most important thing happened right at the beginning. As I began to pull out of my driveway I looked off to my right and spotted a group of maybe 20 robins hopping around on the lawn. Well you all know that robins are among the first signs of Spring so I'm all good now.
