Does anybody have any experience with e-readers, such as the Kiddle from amazons? The iliad is both an e-writer and reader. I would prefer a instrument that can do both, but if I have to choose would go with an e-reader.

I am trying to find the best instrument for notetaking and for using e-books. I restart my Doctorate this year after a spell away for illness. I am looking for technology support.

Any advice on either of the above or other similar device would be appreciated.

I have been using Sony's PRS-505, and I find it okay (I still perfer paper). I had been using mt PDA, but the screen was awful small. The larger screen is much better, but it is not backlit (which does cut down on power draw).

I found that a third party manager (calibre) works better than the Sony manager (on my PC).

The documentation gives a whole list of suported formats, but one uses a fraction of the memory of the others (surprise it is native system (lrc)).

I have been using it for about two weeks now, reading two+ hours a day and yesterday the battery dropped one notch.

Thanks for that. The sony does appear to around down under at the moment. I understand that there is a new PRS -700 version. I have had a look at the Iliad and the screen is quite readable, but it is pricey.

I don't know how useful it will be for e-books. I guess the question is the format. Will Amazon books be readable on it for example. Thanks again for the advice.
