Today is November 11, 2008. Ninety years ago today, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the German Empire surrendered, putting an end to World War I. Today is a day to honor the veterans of all American wars. Thank a vet today! :)

Thanks to all the vets on this board!

    Ted,

Thanks for starting the post. To all veterans, thank you for your service. My wish is that all those currently serving come home safe and quick.

Ladies and Gentlemen: I PM'ed moderator Bruce Tait that I had a vague recollection that he might be a vet and perhaps his service was in Gulf War 1 though I couldn't seem to find anything to verify same. Bruce has PM'ed me back that my memory was correct on both counts. Thanks to Bruce and all the vets for keeping this country free so we can all have the freedom of speech and such other freedoms as we have become accustomed to. And thanks to Bruce and all the mods for providing us this most excellent board (and moderating it) so we can freely speak to each other about distance learning opportunities.

Our veterans, those great men and women who have been willing to serve in the defense of our country and its freedoms, deserve our most enthusiastic praise and respect. I am the son of a veteran and have had the privilege of doing some contract work for the U.S. Dept. of Defense (helping retired personnel transition to civilian employment and higher education). These are some of the finest people that I have known.

Thank you to all veterans for your service to our country.

Thanks for the thanks Ted, and thank you for your quality contributions to the board!

Also don't forget that a fellow Administrator, Randell1234, is a veteran.
