Does anyone know how to properly reference the following dissertation on a CV:

The reason I'm asking is because I had ProQuest publish it in book form for me as a final copy. Any thoughts are welcomed.

    Here are some ideas:

Doe, J. (2008). Exploring how to reference a dissertation. D.B.A. dissertation, Noname University, United States -- Montana. Dissertation Abstracts International. (Publication No. 123ABC).

(for the above sample, I have no idea what the volume number is or should be, etc.)

Doe, J. (2008). Exploring how to reference a dissertation. D.B.A. dissertation, Noname University, United States -- Montana. ProQuest Dissertations database. (Publication No. 123ABC).

Doe, J. (2008). Exploring how to reference a dissertation. (Doctoral dissertation, Noname University, 2008).

    Thoughts?

This example from APA Publication Manual, 5th Ed. Page 261:

    Bower, D. L. (1993). Employee assistant ......... nonreferring supervisors. Dissertation Abstracts International, 54 (01), 534B (UMI No. 9315947)

The manual also gives other options.

If you go to any top-notch university website you'll find that the faculty all have their CVs online. There may be some small differences but I'm guessing that you'll quickly discover the standard method.

One way of doing it is to reference the dissertation in the Education section

    John A. Doe

    Education

Ph.D. Philosophical Studies, Noname University, Noname, MT
Dissertation: Exploring How to Reference a Dissertation

M.A. Rhetoric, Somekindof University, Someplace, ND

B.A. Astrophysics, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA
