What's up with the high amount of spam in the last few weeks? On another forum I am on a lot, we don't let people post in the main forum until they post an intro in the intro forum and it has been approved by the intro mods. This has cut our spam down to virtually zero. Would something like that help with this forum?
Many bulletin boards and forums have been under attack in recent months. degreeinfo.com is not alone. A bulletin board I manage has also received an influx of spam accounts and messages.
I know that it's annoying but it doesn't really interfere with the operation of the board. So, for now I think we'll just continue to sweep the dirt out the back door.
Wouldn't that just get you arrested for indecent exposure or urinating in a public place? Then agin if you are homeless it might be the ticket to three meals a day and a warm dry bed at night.
Since the automated e-mail confirmation started working again, the amount of SPAM has increased, but as Kizmet mentioned we've been on top of it for the most part.
