Does anyone use style formatting software? (MLA, APA, etc) There are a ton of brands out there, are any of them really great?

I use Perrla. It is a plug-in for MS Word, costs a tiny bit (still under $30), offers automatic updates, and works. Its best function is the ability to enter citations and references on the fly. See www.perrla.com.

If you are looking for formatting product only, I'd recommend Perrla. If you are looking for a full-blown bibliography system (formatting and managing bibliographies), Biblioworks and EndNote are both good.

If you are looking for something quick, easy, and free, the Citation Machine may do the job. It would not be good for a thesis or a dissertation, but it works well for short papers.
