Well, I took my comprehensive exam on Monday and called GW late yesterday and the student services woman said that while I won't get the official letter for a few weeks, that it's been graded and that I "have nothing to worry about". So it seems that's finally it for the MA. As for doctoral work, I'm not interested in the American tenure track, so I'm leaning heavily toward South Africa. But for now I think I'll just enjoy the summer. -=Steve=-
Congratulations on the MS from George Washington University! Question: Is it true that tuition for the ETL program costs $1,185 per course?
Yes, that's true, and it was something like $995 when I first started. Considering how much their other programs are, when I was still inquiring I thought it was a misprint and called them just to make sure so I wouldn't wonder if I should have considered them. But it wasn't a misprint, and the rest was history. -=Steve=-
Well, the faculty member I'd been talking to at Pretoria has since taken the job of Dean of Informatics at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He's an interesting guy, and I've heard from another South African academic I know that he'd be an ideal supervisor, so I'm inclined to go with him. That and I'm interested in the intersection of education, technology, and policy, and he's suggested their e-Innovation Academy would be conducive to that. -=Steve=-
Hello Steve, My heartiest congratulations. I know that you have been working hard for this degree and I am thrilled that you have made it. Tony
Congratulations Steve!! I was wondering which SA schools are you looking at? e-Innovation Academy looks good, but will they allow you to do the DTech sitting in the US? Best Sathya
