I seldom get political, but I thought the reactions of these intellectuals at the University of Maine, Farmington to a U.S. Veteran who was appalled at the art project of having people walk on the flag was reprehensible. Disclosure: My father was a POW, severely wounded in combat and buried with full military honors at Arlington last year.(see denvermullican.com) My family never thought the flag was “just a symbol” as the intellectuals at Farmington told the veteran.
