Hello, My daughter received a second BA from TESC. There were 18 grad level credits included in this. Her employer does not give any additional financial incentive for the second BA but will give an additional salary incentive for grad credits. Is is ethical to have them transcripted at the ACE? Thoughts appreciated. Hille

What does it mean to be "transcipted at the ACE"? Do you mean TESC?

It seems you're asking whether or not it's okay to earn graduate credits for a second BA because the employer will pay for the grad credits. Kind of a "letter of the law" vs. "spirit of the law" kind of thing. Well, I tend to fall on the letter side of that dilemma.

If the employer is willing to reimburse/pay for graduate credits without one earning a graduate degree, then the employer is placing a value on the education gained in each course, rather than the attainment of a degree. Your daughter has lived up to that by taking the courses, no matter where they are applied.

Do you mean as opposed to showing them on her TESC transcript? In other words, they would be presented to her employer freely standing on an ACE transcript and not part of a second degree. If I understand that correctly, I don't think there is even a hint of unethical behavior unless somewhere on her employment contract it asks that she disclose ALL/ANY educational/degrees/awards. Some do, she should check.

If your daughter's employer's policy has specific requirements, and she fulfills those requirements, then I don't see why she should feel compelled to volunteer additional unsolicited information.

Why not present the transcript from the graduate classes for proof?

    Thanks.

Hello, She was hired on the basis of her first degree. The second occured during the past three years. Currently my thought for her is to get transcripts of the grad credits from the schools and have them transcripted on an American Council of Ed transcript. She could possibly get a bump up in salary of 2000 per year. This would be a huge help since she has hopes of going to grad school. Hille
