Here's a fun little time waster I've been drawn to over the last couple of weeks.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/

Basically, anyone can ask anything. People respond, and the asker selects the best response. Everything from dating to higher ed to the art of motorcycle repair.

So of course, I'm drawn to the Education & Reference ---> Higher Ed category.

In the past couple of weeks, I've learned that:

    1. Online schools only have "local accreditation"
    2. Intel stopped paying for UOP classes because it was a "diploma mill"
    3. If you don't go to an Ivy League MBA program, you'll never get your money back, ROI - wise.
    4. People will ask higher education questions and follow anonymous user advice that quotes wikipedia.

    I admit, I'm fascinated.

Hehe, I have also found Yahoo!Answers fascinating. There are a few people that answer higher ed questions that know absolutely nothing about accreditation. There is one person in particular who tells people that unless you get an in-a-seat MBA from a top 15 school, any other MBA is useless.

I have managed to get quite a few best answers for steering people to correct accreditation information and also answering questions about online programs. My Answers screen name is NGC6205.
