I was recently promoted to Senior Service Manager with national responsibility. I was interviewed by the HR director, VP, and COO of the company (the CEO is located in Japan). Two of the three, the exception being the VP, asked about my PhD quest. The COO asked how the classes were formatted and I explained the difference between the formats of the schools. He was impressed with everything except the UF program because he is a Buckeye!

Would I have gotten the promotion without the degrees? Like the old Tic-Tac commercial – can you breath without a Tic-Tac…yes but I don’t recommend it. Could I have gotten a promotion without a masters…maybe but why try to get one without higher education.

Now I need to travel a lot more and hire a manager in Chicago and LA – anyone interested??

Indeed Congrats are in order!! You must be excited as a 10 year old on Christmas morning! ...satisfying to know that all that hard work paid off!

It's also good news for anyone else reading these threads and still questioning the validity of DL programs!

Yes because I will be finished with the UF program this month. It is a balance...sort of. I am teaching 3 classes now from one school. The other school did not give me any classes and I am happy because I need the break! Last semester I taught 24 credits (8 classes).
