I'm in the process of moving my office, and can't find my Bears' Guides at the moment. Could someone look up the listing for the degree mill Eastern Missouri Business College, and let me know what their Latin motto was? Translated, I believe it was "Everything from petty theft to highway robbery". Thanks!

Hey Bruce, Good luck with the move! Speaking of Bear's Guide, is it true that it will no longer be published? Roscoe
Roscoe: "Speaking of Bear's Guide, is it true that it will no longer be published?" John: I often wonder that as well. The 16th edition came out in Jan. 2006. The fact that it ranks 69,000 on Amazon sales suggests it isn't selling too well. (Since I am no longer involved, I don't get royalties or sales statements.) Back when we were on an every-two-years cycle, work on a 17th edition would have started last fall, and would be done by June. To the best of my knowledge, there is no work going on at this time, at least by the two authors of the 16th edition. But the way you phrased your question, Roscoe, since you are much involved in the publishing world, seems to suggest that you have heard or read something in this regard.
Given that Ten Speed has let the phone number AND the domain name simply go and expire and get randomly reassigned to someone else, one would assume that anything having to do with distance learning isn't in their priority list. I would love to see the tradition continue, but perhaps what will eventually occur is an online version with a print version supplied as a "service" to those who need up-to-date information, such as employers and credential checkers and such. We (DegreeInfo) have discussed doing such a thing before... the issue for us, as likely with Ten Speed, is the economic viability. I don't mind doing it as a breakeven project, but we couldn't afford to invest a ton of money in necessary research without a way to recoup it, and I would be wary of a community or wiki-based project because given the devious nature of the mills, I think it would be too easy for bogus entries to be inserted.
