May GOD shed his grace on you & yours with all of your desires. A remember, CHRIST and Christianity is what we Americans celebrate and should take our stand in numbers when our cultural beliefs and religion are being demanded to be taken down or not mentioned in public due offending the non-believers. Don't give up our rights in our own country. If there countries were so great, they should have stayed and not come here to change our culture and traditions. MERRY CHRISTMAS MERRY CHRISTMAS
Exactly, as a Christian, I'm also cognizant of my Jewish friends who will be celebrating Chanukah, the festival of lights. I believe the starting date this year is December 16. Since I'm not Jewish, I don't know how accurate this page is, but here is information about Judah the Hammer, who led the revolt against Antiochus, which led to the rededication of the temple. It is a very important story for Christians but it is hardly taught in churches: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judas_Maccabeus Happy Chanukah!
In the Catholic version of the Old Testament, 1 Maccabees is included. Protestants have to go to the Apocrypha to find it. Either way, here it is: http://www.livius.org/maa-mam/maccabees/1macc01.html -=Steve=-
