    Wow... I guess it isn't just Americans who have been dumbed down by that crap...

    Why is it that the lowest common denominator (in terms of intellect anyway) always seems to win?

    So if the majority (is it?) wants X to be Y then so be it, whether or not it is good or bad? Then again, what is wrong with text-speak? Language evolves (or devolves), so lets go with the flow just like dead fish and other malodorous matter.

    Good point. If we dumb down the next generation enough to make them unemployable, then I guess old farts like me will have a job for life! (Just kidding - your post cracked me up) :p

    That is what made me roll my eyes originally, though. Why handicap these poor kids anymore than they already are? If college is actually supposed to prepare these folks to enter the workforce, this can't be good. I'm picturing follow up letters to job interviews like this:

    "Dr HR peep;

    OMG, thnx 4 the interview. Pls txt me ayec! UR da bomb. Cul8r!"

    (If you need assistance translating this gibberish, click here)

    Just remember ...

    If you don't win ... you loose.

    (When did we lose the ability to spell?)
