    Hello folks,

I'm taking my FIRST statistics course ever in my graduate program online. I'm half way through the course and I'm drowning and I need help. Are there any recommended statistics guides for someone like me. Please help...thanks.

Welcome to my world! I had the same feeling!

    Three things:

    1) Printed Resources:
----- Believe it or not, there is a Cliff Notes on Statistics (found it a Wal-Mart)
----- Get the Teach-Yourself series they are good
----- Pick on and go through the whole thing

    2) Tutors if you need them - find one.

    3) Talk to your instructor...especially if they hold a Ph.D.
----- It has been my experience that those who have been through the Ph.D. process and teach statistics are EXTREMELY helpful.

I told my dissertation chair that the "statisticd space" was not easy for me and he made sure that I have help and guidance. Your graduate profs will do the same.

Don't get discouraged...hang in there...ask for help from your profs!! Probably over-simplistic but tried and true.

    Thank you!!

    Hi David,

I finally got the Idiot's Guide to Statistics and another guide. I could not be believe how it clarified things for me. For the first time, I got a 100% on my homework assignment this week. My text book is so dry and boring and even after reading the chapter twice it still didn't make sense! The guides have helped me tremendously. Now I have six weeks of catching up to do, but I feel better about it now. Getting a tutor is not a bad idea, I have a few of those Sylvan centers in my area. :)
