Yes that is right folks... I have actually signed up to take a class. Taking Biology 211 at my local community college. 5 Quarter credits. I figured it was as good a start as any. This will allow me to decided whether I want to go in a more science direction or a more math direction.

Good job Xarick!!! One class at a time. Biology is a good class to take in person, especially the lab portion.

    Keep it up broheim!

Thanks.. I am pretty nervous as this is my first class in six years. If I really enjoy the Biology I will probably go for an Enviro Science degree at Oregon State. The degree requires you to get the Bio, and Physics onsite, but the rest is online.

Forget really enjoy...if you can DO it then keep doing it...class may not be fun (like a session at the gym) but it separates the winners from the losers.

Clovis community college offers courses at a great price.

Someone at degreeinfo recently mentioned chadron state college. That is a good find. You can try out a grad course or two for under $500 per course. MBA courses included. These courses may apply for credit towards an excelsior mba.

If you are interested in pursuing science as a career, adams state college offers inexpensive courses in the sciences.

You could transfer these grad credits
to the masters in liberal studies program at excelsior and form a concentration in a science field.

Whatever you decide Xarick, I wish you the best.

what I meant by enjoy is that if I don't like it I will take something else like accounting or math. I am hoping that by taking a few mainstream classes I can get some direction.

Go back to the old axiom of "How do you eat an elephant?" Answer: "One bite at a time....". Best of luck, my friend. :)

    Ah Biology class...

I took 2 Bio Classes at Northern Virginia Community college, and they were actually pretty cool.

The only problem was that in BIO 102 we had to breed fruit-flies (which would seem easy because they used to breed in my sink all the time in college), but I could not keep them from dying. It cost me a letter grade, but I didn't really care, all I wanted was the transfer credit :^)

Let us know how it goes, and good luck!

That's a great idea! Your worst case scenario is that you get a lot of credit. Either you figure out what you want to do or you end up getting a degree in General Studies. :)

That's exactly what I did. NVCC had a rule where if you accumulated 69 credit hours (vs. the regular 60) you could earn 2 associate's degrees simultaneously. I had so many different credits all they fit into was "liberal arts" and "General Studies" so I have an A.S. and an A.A. degree thanks to having not decided what I wanted to do back then :)
