    I was surprised by the first one - you would think people with more educatrion would be more aware of the consequences - OTOH, people with more education may be in more demand.have more opportunities.

    Of the second, $30,000 per year is not much of a hurdle to leap - that includes just about everyone working FT.

    Sounds like an opportunity thing. Those with graduate degrees are likely to make more money, which would tend to make them more attractive as potential partners, which would give them more opportunity. Those making less than $30,000 a year would likely be perceived as broke losers, so who'd want them? Hence, less opportunity.

    I wonder if part of it were that well educated people tend to be more intelligent, more intelligent people tend to be less conforming, and less conforming people tend to be more willing to try open marriages, threesomes, etc.
