Has anybody ever met a University of Phoenix Grad who actually went to Phoenix? I had a co-worker graduate from Univ. of Phoenix - Sacto and I asked if he flew to Phoenix for the commencement. He said they only had one in Sacramento. You would think they would give the option of attending a big commencement at the Main Campus. Or is Phoenix just where the corporate body located?

And note that the link Dave provided only shows what UOP considers campuses. However, there are many site locations within most or all campuses. Washington State shows a West and East campus, but the west campus has (5) locations. California is a better example with many, many locations.

    Hi SactoMike,

I graduated from UoP and they do have a once a year graduation in Phoenix. If I remember correctly the graduation takes place in July over a 3-day period. I did not go as the people in my cohort did not go, but I could have convinced a couple of them to go then I would have attended.

So if you finish your studies some time after July then you receive an invitation from UoP giving you all the details for the graduation for the next July graduation. The invitation is normally an e-mail directing you to a web site that gives graduation ceremonies for the entire UoP system. This would include the Phoenix location and a number of other locations where UoP have campuses.

A lot of people do travel to the ceremonies and a lot of that coordination happens through the UoP internal student chat room. In fact there are some core students and ex-students there that coordinate a barbeque every year for the graduation.

UoP has a very big presents in Phoenix, they have their corporate offices as you noted but they also have a fairly large campus there also.

I received my Master's degree from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, and I only went to the City of Lowell twice...once to show them my original DD-214 (which was mandatory), the second time to pick-up my diploma (non-mandatory, they would have mailed it to me).
