Hysterical! It's not actually a Google site. All it does is add "site:.edu" to your search terms and send that to Google. Why?

If you search for shazbat Google will search the whole Internet.

If you search for shazbat site:.edu google will search for shazbat but only return responses on web sites the address for which ends in .edu -- meaning universities (and a few grandfathered interlopers).

You don't have to use .edu, though. You can use anything. For example, to search for something at all South African universities, simply say shazbat site:.ac.za or to search the British government say shazbat site:.gov.uk or to search MIT say shazbat site:.mit.edu.
