    Graduation rates at a CC....

Many of the students that go to a Community College just go sometimes to enrich themselves, or brush up on a course they took years ago, or take a class for pure enjoyment.
When I graduated from Sacramento City College, the enrollment was over 18,000 but only 1,000 students earned degrees (AA or AS) and maybe 500 students earned certificates of completion. Most students can transfer to a CSU Campus with only 56 transferable units; an AA degree requires a minimum of 60 units and their respective core courses.

I took courses at Northern Virginia Community College in the '90s that I later transferred to Charter Oak, but wasn't seeking a degree from them. Moreover, I could see taking courses from them again someday for personal enrichment, especially foreign language courses, of which they offer many. I'm not interested in a degree from them, though, since I don't really care about getting an Associate's degree at this point.

I got the degrees from Northern VA Community College becuase it made for easier credit transfer to Longwood. Also, I had taken so many classes there on summer breaks and in between transferring from Liberty to Longwood, I had enough to earn two degrees (AA/AS) simultaneously.
