I have applied to AACROA on January 3rd, 2006 and I'm still having problems with my review.

I'm extremely frustrated with their review. They have placed me at the correct level of academic achievement but they were absolutely stumped at the fact that I did not take an exam for my City & Guilds Diploma. I achieved it by transferring my Incorporated Engineering status from the Engineering Council.

Anyway, they took an extremely long time with my review and they still didn't get it right. They stated that the three levels of UK registration for engineers are the Professional Engineer, Incorporated Engineer, and Engineering Technician.

They are not aware of the Charter Engineering title.

It is clear that they are slow to admit their mistake because during my Re-evaluation they wrote me saying that the evaluator found no errors in my review. I told them that the Professional Engineer is a United States title and they should correct it immediately.

    P.
What was the rational for having them do the eval?

They are expansive and I rarely see requirement for their evaluation services, why not use one of the NACES member agencies, maybe WES?

I think they are protective of USA educational system and the replies you get are politically biased, USA educational providers don't need US potential students flooding US with UK qualifications.

US system is Examination based and the idea of credential based not on examination (business aspect of it - all the test prep and consumer protection).

Even in UK there is no guarantee of recognition.
Read what one of the people who has 2 GCGI's has to say:

So you got your GCGI evaluated properly and the IEng as a person who is licensed in USA to practice as Professional Engineer.

UK IET calls all the members who are CEng, IEng and Tech Eng as
    registred Professional Engineers.

    Engineers are redifining their roles

There has been a revolutionary changes in the job nature of engineers over the past few decades. The boundary of the engineering work has been extended beyong the traditional engineering and technology in a maufacturing settings. There are systems, industrial and management engineers nowadays whose primarily functions are to assist and improve the overall organisational effectiveness, efficiency and economy, strategy management, communication, and knowledge transfer on top of the traditional production or manufacturing activities. The latter two category of engineers are employed in the non-manufacturing sectors or NGOs, like the financial institutions, hospitals, and large corporation HQs for corporate decision making purposes.
