    I observed, and shared, 10 years ago; there are two professions that will provide qualified workers with a job and decent pay in any community in the United States. These are nursing (RN) and trucking (CDL).

    Having done both, I'd opt for the nursing if I were going to head back to either. That said, driving a truck wasn't a bad way to make a living and the pay was good. Just too many hours away from home. I missed more family special occasions while driving a truck than I did in the Army.

    My hat's off to the truck drivers. Esp. to the folk that own that rig and are paying their own fuel bills...
