Wow, this is getting a little scary folks. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060216/ap_on_re_eu/russia_iran_1
Dome of the Rock If Iran were to nuke Israel, wouldn't they destroy Jerusalem and thus the Dome of the Rock? Wouldn't that be unacceptable to them? Thus wouldn't they not do it? Maybe this is simplistic, but by holding the third most holy site in Islam, isn't Israel essentially holding a hostage? -=Steve=-
Yes, it is. Radical Muslims are convinced nihilist, and I doubt they care much about those holy sites. The guy said it clearly: Israel must be wiped out off the map. No need for an exeget to interpret itsince the guy cannot be accused of being unclear. It is just a matter of time that either the US (especially if Republicans win again) or Israel destroy those nuclear weapons facilities. What would come next remains to be seen, but I would distrust those apocalyptic messages from Russian generals, who by the way have been themselves fueling the conflict with Muslims in Chenya. They probably have economic or military interests in Iran, and this Bozo Iranian President has promised to protect them. But not for free. After all, Russia has a permanent seat in the UN Security Council, the organism that can impose LEGALLY economic and military penalties. This council will be presided over by Denmark. That would help explain as well this orchestrated attacks over the cartoons row that are just part of a greater strategy. Over here it worked pretty good. Only yesterday, I repeat, only yesterday the EU parliament voiced a (weak) support for Denmark.
Apparently, Americans take *very* seriously that Russian general´s words, and plan to attack Iran in January 2007. http://www.zaman.com/?bl=international&alt=&trh=20060220&hn=29971
