It seems like I've noticed more posts from new members and quiet members recently. Maybe it's because they are more noticeable. At any rate, a lot of input from people it's good to get to know.

Perhaps they are actually "old" members who "left", and are now posting under new names?

    I welcome the new contributors.

It’s unfortunate that as a result of the current controversy, "...we lost a lot of good men" [and women]. Hopefully the new and the formerly quiet will step up to take their place.

I've noticed this too. Perhaps they are the old members who left, or maybe they feel somewhat less intimidated with certain people off the boards now??

I'd tend to go with your latter point, Rhonda. I blundered in right from the start and didn't mind if I got smacked around a bit. However, it can be intimidating to a newbie to contribute to a discussion where a few prolific posters dominate most of the discussion, if not most of the threads.

Sorry to see a lot of these folks go, but in their absence it’s been just a mite quieter round these here parts……….which may in turn explain the sudden up-tick in newer contributors.

Ahhhh, I bet it's the former. I've seen too many people shout from the roof tops that they are through with DI, only to be coaxed back by their fawning sycophants.

With this latest dust-up all of the holier than thou's have ceremoniously announced their departure, some numerous times, in hopes that they would again be begged back. Many of them, no doubt, have been stricken with a sudden case of pride which prevents them from showing-up again, at least under their former handles.

I have little doubt that many of the newbies are actually "oldies" who can't quite kick the habit or can't stand not knowing what other people are saying about them.

Heck, I just wonder how long I'm going to be a 'new member'? Guess I just don't post often enough .... but I have been reading the boards for a couple of years I guess.

How long is Gregg DesElms going to be listed as a moderator here? I was under the impression that he "jumped ship" and is now moderating the degreediscussion.com message board. That's not to say he doesn't still read these boards, but he always had something insightful to post.

The site has changed a bit, but is still a good resource for those of us who are involved in distance learning...

Gregg almost always had something insightful to post on just about every subject. He could be a bit tough sometimes, but he did help a lot of people.

I believe Gregg is still around. He has been busy with some work projects. Gregg is a great person, and genius to boot.

Trust me, if Gregg was leaving this forum, he would make a last and final statement.

Just one hundred. There really ought to be a Big Kahuna level for when one gets to a thousand, though. :)
