I can no longer pussy foot around and keep in silence! I haven’t and from the looks of it most of us haven’t posted anything about DL in quite some time and quite frankly I haven’t been in the mood to recently! I am voicing my frustrations at watching someone take a bulldozer to the fine china closet once known as Degree Info! Borrowed from Uncle Janko’s Ich kann nicht anders... I condemn pedophilia. Period. I condemn shilling for mills. Period. I condemn shilling for porn. Period. I condemn abusing people's wallets. Period. I condemn abusing people's bodies. Period. I condemn the psycho fora. Period. I condemn the betrayal of trust at degreeinfo. The recent events of DI really bother me! Although I say shame, shame on Chip (I'm not quite sure if I could in good faith hold any stake in MRC (See the article talked about by Tom Head in his last post http://forums.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?threadid=23226&pagenumber=4),but that is a personal choice of Chips and if he can sleep at night then good for him it is not for me to pass judgement thought I must say some of MRC’s holdings bother me!). I originally said” DI in no way provides,distributes or advocates pornography and if the owner of this site is enterprising and making money off of porn, who cares? As long as it does not effect DI! This board IMHO is a community service and we all make it what it is, it's not about who owns it.” I stand by that! Although when I said I was talking pre-controversy DI, this whole mess has really taken its toll on the board! Some of the most recent hints that others may/will be leaving are the most hurtful IMHO to this message board. If I understand John Bear’s post it sounds as though he may be off to obscurity, It sure sounds like some other prominent posters have decided they either will not post here or will post very limited if at all. It will be interesting to see who else will stop posting. I must say one of the great things about DI has always been that it has been able to attract both educators and students and bring them together for common discussion and debate, I feel that DI may be loosing that. DI has taught me a lot and I hope I have (either as my current real self or as Rivers) in some way contributed positively to this community, my fear is that this community may fall completely apart. The part I hate the most is if we don’t put the pieces back together quickly the trolls win, game over! It was Joanne who first used the analogy of Humpty Dumpty and I really think it is fitting because this is what DI is starting to look like. All the King’s horses and all the King’s could put Humpty Dumpty back together again!
