I wonder?

I wonder , why did 2/3 moderators resign? Is it because of the alleged recent material that came to light?

If they resigned because of the material, do they feel it would affect their professional lives to be moderators of the Boards?

Seems like as SENIOR MEMBERS and SUPER MODERATORS they were the first to find out and cut and run.

It's not only that but I've heard that there have been personal threats against some members -- especially those like Rich who prefer not to hide behind an anonymous handle.

 

Threats and innuendo are part of the job if you're an administrator or moderator here, which is what I should have told the last group of moderators. I can totally understand their unwillingness to subject themselves and their families to such abuse.

I find it interesting how so called moral compasses are willing to throw out their own morals to press their point of view.

Caesar’s wife not only has to be chaste, but she has to look chaste. A 2000 year old conduct code. I suspect that for many that was the real reason behind their decision, that they would probably be viciously and unfairly attacked. The difference is that nowadays there are more or less efficient ways to defend your honor against psychopathic cyberpredators, stalkers, and lurkers. The question really is how far are you willing to go.

Ad Astra, in this specific case it would be way easier than you can imagine. And you only need to identify and prosecute one to the fullest extent of the law to stop them all. For good. It is absurd that there can be people dedicating their lives to harass, stalk, and calumniate others through the internet year after year. It seems that inpunity times are over if that law is finally approved.

I suspect you need to read it again -- "those like Rich". I was talking about those like you not you in particular. It's called a simile if you don't remember. As for staying on topic -- sure, how's this. I wonder if Rich is embarrassed at all for flying off the handle at someone who was initially trying to give him a compliment. I wonder what the hell has gone on here. I've been a long time reader of this board (but an infrequent poster), and within a weeks time, it has basically self destructed.
