My New Year’s resolutions are simple,

To neutralize - within the limits imposed to me by my level of education, the DegreeInfo TOS, and simple good manners – the “Duendes” - Trolls that are constantly attacking us here and elsewhere.

To finish my Tulane’s Master Certificate by January of 2006.

To pass the NASD Series 7 exam by February of 2006.

To quit smoking by May of 2006.

    Happy New Year Everybody!!!

I pledge to continue ignoring the paper brokers at Jamesville.

I pledge to find my second wind in order to bounce back from the emotional drain experienced from finishing my BS degree.

I pledge to update the Computer Science DL portion of my web site to add bachelors and doctorate degrees to the existing list of masters degrees.

I pledge to fight evil lint where ever it my hide.

    I Resolve:

Not to fall into complacency after I complete the bachelors in Apr, and start IMMEDIATELY on my masters.....

To devote as much effort to achieving PMP certification.....

To try to find more balance, and time with my family in spite of resolutions 1 & 2.

Have a great new year, everyone!

    Lessee....

    Drop 10-15 pounds.

Either start & complete the CASL (Chartered Advisor for Senior Living) designation or start the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation and take/pass the Level I exam in 2006.

    Minimally, double my practice.

I think that's enough for one year :-D

I'm not likely to give up smoking anytime soon, and I'm already more or less my ideal body weight for my height.

My New Year's resolution is to reclaim the parts of my private life I gave away too many years ago, of my own free will, no matter what sacrifices of ego it takes.

    God bless and be well.

During normal hours: Spend time with family.

During those odd hours of the night: Improve my swimming enough to finish in the top half of my age group in triathlons.

Turn my pile of outlines into at least a few trade magazine articles.

I guess I would have to say live more healthily and finish my Master's. Considering the stress of the latter, though, I'm uncertain it's entirely compatible with the former. :)

I'm not "back". Handling a New Year's Resolution properly requires doing it in stages. Cold Turkey resolutions don't tend to work. Decision, Planning, Action, Completion.

Stage 1 is the decision. In my case, to regain my private life. I cannot just regain it by saying that's what I want -- but that's the first step.

Stage 2 was destroying all my unaccredited diplomas (2 January 2006), transcripts, and conferral letters. That's done.

Stage 3 was recanting all right to the post-nominals B.A., M.Sc., Ph.D. This was also done "for the record". As of 2 January 2006, I am no longer, in any way, in any state, in any country, entitled to those -- as I have totally and irrevocably recanted the conferral thereof. The only way I could ever regain that right is to earn degrees in future. (I stated this otherwhere, but I'm restating it publicly here because not everyone here reads that forum.)

Stage 4 is backing out of any and all "distance learning" -- as this (in combination with my outspoken behavior) has been the source of conflict. This is in progress. Suffice it to say -- I'm out for the count, in all aspects of "distance learning."

Stage 5? To move on, to put the past in the past, to learn from it, and to avoid its pitfalls, and to focus my energy on family matters that are in drastic need of attention. This will come with time, but only if I work sincerely at it, which I plan to do.

    Take care everyone.

Try to get at least 1 paper published.

    Present at a conference.

    Take qualifying exams.

    1. To spend more time with my family in 2006 than I did in 2005.
    2. To tell people what I REALLY think and not bottle my emotions up as much as I have in the past.
    3. To be less tolerant of other people's failures.

    :D
