What faculty do all day ;)

People in academe constantly talk about the division of professors’ time between teaching, research and service. But according to new data and a report released by the U.S. Education Department on Wednesday, the real triptych of higher education work activity is teaching, research, and administrative duties.

    Interesting article and statistics.

But does it really capture all the reading and research we do late at night and over the weekends?

    Excellent article.

55 hours a week AND Tenure?!? I'd take either, but such is the real world.

But can we count it as work if we enjoy it? One of the real pluses of teaching what you love.

OTOH - getting my school to agree to a certificate program in VOIP (it's huge) may be a Dilbertian struggle. ;)
