Fox is planning to do a live interview with my co-author, Allen Ezell, at 2:45 pm Eastern time on Tuesday.

They've asked for information to put into on-screen graphics, including the five best ways to identify a degree mill. DegreeInfo.com was included on my list. If they go with it, we might see the 'most on line at one time' number rise a bit tomorrow afternoon.

    Allen Ezell on Fox News

Just saw Allen Ezell interviewed on Fox News. He was talking about degree mills and terrorists.

Ezell was stiff and even looked like one! Certainly didn't instill any confidence in me about the subject!

He certainly doesn't have a personality like John Bear and Steve Levicoff do.

What a disappointment. The interview with Ezell got started okay, but was cut short before either the possible terrorist connection, or any mention of DegreeInfo, got covered or even mentioned. Apparently a "breaking news" story about a fire was more important -- a fire that FOX had been covering for quite a while before Ezell's interview got started, and which would have still been there for many hours thereafter. FOX couldn't give a lousy 5 to maybe 8 minutes to Ezell's interview?

    Unbelievable.

And I had hit the "record" button on my VCR and everything.

I guess you didn't see me on Good Morning America, huh? In fact, Alan and John came off very well in our piece on GMA in 2004.

No, I didn't. But you certainly do have a personality as well.

You obvously have never seen Allen speak. I have been to about 3 or 4 of his lectures at various accrao and NAFSA events and never is he stiff at those. how odd that you thought he was stiff today. Shoot, Allen even thought it was funny when my cell phone went off at his lecture at AACRAO nationals in Vegas.

Saw Allen in Chicago recently and he was very good. Really interesting guy.

Some people find live network television a bit unnerving --the notion that literally millions of people are watching you right now, and if you mumble or swear or have a wardrobe malfunction (or die, as Rodale did on the Dick Cavett show), that's it, folks.

I've always thrived on it. Adrenalin pumping. Loved The Today Show. Loved Late Night with Letterman. Even loved Jeopardy (not live, but irreversible) despite the outcome.

Some people also find it unsettling to do Fox's kind of satellite interview, where you're sitting in a small blue room with no other people, the only action being a sound in the button mike in your ear.
