    Greetings!
Degreeinfo board has been a source of inspiration for me since last 2~3 years. I had a chance to interact with some of the best people on the internet. The board also made to go out and pursue MBA by DL from Texas A&M-Commerce. I was truly inspired by the Marketing/Business Plan I wrote during the course and made it a reality in the due time.
I was working on this idea long before I started my MBA and was reinforced during my courses at Texas A&M. I was also inspired by "Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies" from Jim Collins, Jerry I. Porras. I started a Spices/Seasonings manufacturing company here in Miami in 2003 and it took a lot of time to get everything in place and finally come out with some good products. All the products are certified by a USDA Accredited and FDA Registered Laboratory and are of very high quality. I am actively recruiting distributors in Miami, Seattle and Connecticut areas to begin with. There were a lot of ups and downs all along and I kept myself focused. I actually started with something in mind and with time things changed and strategies needed to be changed according to time and economy. Few things went way above my budget and some below. Finally things worked out well. The products were finally launched in April 2005. The products are also listed on Ebay yesterday for very affordable prices. If somebody want to see the listing please let me know. Any kind of comments is welcome on the listing. Hope I am not offending anybody by posting this. I am not trying to sell my products here:. Also let me know if somebody or anybody you know is interested to work as a distributor for a specific region. Please PM me. The commission/margins are promising. I will still continue to complete my MBA at Texas A&M - Commerce and possibly DBA from University of Newcastle Australia. I am learning a lot. I thank this board for all these things.

    Thanks.

Congratulations. It's always nice to hear a success story. I don't know about anyone else, but I would be interested in seeing what products you have.

    Hey DL

Congrats. I also would like to see the products. I don't think there would be any problems listing them in this thread. Happy Hollidays!

    Congratulations!

I don't have a problem with an established contributor putting in a plug for their legitimate business, it's spamming by new members with about 6 posts (all spam) that get flushed.

    Agreed!

    Agreed!

Do provide the details, dl_mba. It would be less of a technical violation of the TOS, and more evidence of a DI success story!

Thanks very much for your encouraging words.

Right now we carry 4 Premium Quality Seasonings. We are in the process of adding more products soon.

As i told earlier all the Products are Certified by USDA Accredited and FDA Registered Laboratory.

I had to put almost everything i learnt in my Management Skills Development, Marketing, economics, Accounting classes to work here. I also attended Florida Atlantic University's FREE SBDC classes (http://www.fausbdc.com) on Marketing, Finance, Import-Export etc. They were really helpful in many ways. You might remember sometime ago i had a question here about Home based Distributors. The most important thing i learnt is to be focused always and good networking. I had to do some compromises in my personal life too. Above all this is just a begining.

Italian Seasoning, Lemon Pepper, Taco Seasoning and Zesty Steak Seasoning. These products were carefully selected to make sure our customer like.

Below are the Ebay listings. (The products are also being sold through some distribution channels). Ebay is just an another market place.

I want to make it clear again that this is not an attempt to sell any products. If you like it please feel free to try.

Let me know what you think.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

I am in the process of updating the company website.

    www.suncoast-Products.com
(We are in the process of redesigning the website to add new products and recepies)

    Thanks Again.

    dl_mba,

Fantastic! This is the best thread I have seen for ages. Your reticence was understandable but I am glad the wise heads welcomed your post for what it is, a genuine business venture by somebody who has been inspired to do so by the confidence gained from their distance learning MBA course. I really do hope it works outs for you.

By the way I think your distributors are probably the way to go, not sure how much success you will have on eBay...have you thought about making a 'Christmas' spice hamper or package and selling it on eBay as a gift item for maybe 5 or 10 dollars?
I might look for Christmas gift ideas on eBay, but I don't think I would look for a $2 spice...anyway best of luck!!

By the way today I sent off my application for a DL MBA at Henley Management College (UK). Let the nail biting begin!

    All the best,

    Dave C.

    Dave,

Thanks for your encouraging words. Going with my traditional Dustribution Channels is the primary focus. Ebay is a good place to showcase products but cannot depend on it. I had a similar idea of Spice Hamper but it takes a lot of work and is not practical to do in lesser volumes. I will keep your idea in mind for the next holiday season.
I have heard good things about Henley .. I wish you good luck with your application.
