Take a look at the latest Army recruiting commercial. You'll get a free pair of boots. Go see your local Army recruiter today.
Nightmares are ahead now that I have viewed that recruiting advertisement. Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld... Definitely NOT the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
Actually, you'll get three boots. One for your left foot, one for your right foot, and your drill instructor's boot up your..... Man, that's a funny video.
Sadly, I leave the US Army with a ten year investment. I just can not stomach its mentality any longer. Funny flash commercial, however...
I left the active Army almost two years ago and I have missed it ever since. However, your reminder of the mentality makes me miss it a little [lot] less. Thanks.
Same thekingster, Become a contractor, different rules, more fun, and money. One way to keep your clearance active, need a TS, and finish school by distance. Great for single guys, but tough on family types. Plus you will run onto old buds. Many different jobs, locations, and no third boot.
Funny commercial, but with the quality of soldiers lately I am worried there may be some truth to the comedy ad. January will be 17 years active duty, and I do look forward to retiring at 20, lol, and starting a new career. SFC Parker
Get out as soon as possible. No one in the civilian sector cares about your enlisted grade. But they do care about your education level, so..... Make sure your education level is as high as possible, even if it means not leaving the feathered nest the military provides. Employers don't care if you were a Staff Sergeant or a Sergeant First Class (or whatever). But they do care about your experiences and your credentials.
I preach the same to my soldiers--they do not care much about your grade, etc., but do care about your ed level. I have an undergrad degree in accounting and I am about half way through my MBA, and I plan on sitting for the CPA exam soon (I just had my transcripts sent to the exam authorities for verification that I do qualify to sit). I do plan my transition in both the tactical and strategic planning methods. William
