    As the Societal Marketing Concept (Philosophy) gains more widespread acceptance in the academic and business world you will see the teachings of great men like Mahatma Gandhi, along with many others be applied to higher education curricula.

    Just like the "Art of War" was applied to business during the 80's, we will have the teachings of other more socially responsive philosophies applied in the 2000's. I used to teach my students that the Navajo Indians use to base their decisions on how the decision in question would affect eight (8) generations down the road.

    I for one think that professional responsibility and ethical behavior are not in conflict with maximizing profits. Just look at Ted Turner, the guy is loaded and no one can argue with his ethical values.

    His infatuation with communist dictators argues against his ethical values.

    You mean like how he promised the UN a huge chunk of change, then changed his mind about most of it? I mean, I hardly find the UN a good place to spend money, but not following through on promises is definitely an arguable ethical value.
