Take a step back in time. Visit your public library to examine the state guides of yesteryear. Many are quite good. Texas: A Guide to the Lone Star State, Florida: A Guide to the Southernmost State, Louisiana: A Guide to the State and New York: A Guide to the Empire State will give residents a view from the 1930's. I enjoy each and everyone of them. There are guides to all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Check it out. You will be glad you did. There are tours along roads and towns that only the inhabitants of that time knew of. There are ghost stories and what life was like in the 1930's.

    Aren't they GREAT?

I have New Mexico and Arizona in reprints from the University of Arizona Press, Washington State and Colorado in their 1950 editions, and a reprinted 1939 edition of New York City, the last purchased at Hyde Park.

I want California and Oregon. I have read Utah, Nevada, and North Dakota.
