I assume this is a joke or hoax, from the Harlingen, Texas paper. At least I can find no evidence of Palm Valley University, real or fake: "...The Rio Grande Valley could have a presidential library by 2010 if Palm Valley University has its way. Palm Valley U. is one of eight institutions -- and the only one in the Valley -- that submitted proposals to build the [George W. Bush presidential] library.... If Palm Valley University wins, it would become the first diploma mill to host a presidential library. PVU is a non-abominational institution offering a wide range of educational programs. BAs start at $32.95. Graduate degrees in law and medicine top out in the mid-$100s...." http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/newssentinel/news/editorial/12827541.htm
Here are proposed models. I must say I like them. http://www.greatbuildings.com/cgi-bin/gbi.cgi/Fallingwater.html/cid_1036095357_mryan_fw_upriv.gbi http://www.greatbuildings.com/cgi-bin/gbi.cgi/Seattle_Public_Library.html/cid_1112232879_DSCN0939.gbi
Palm Valley sure sounds "abominational" to me. Perhaps St. Regis could apply to host the Albert Gore "Almost Presidential Library" or the Pat Buchanan "Wannabe Presidential Library" If Palm Valley loses the bid for the Bush Library (the competition might just edge it out), they could bid for another Texan: The H. Ross Perot Almost Semi-Presidential Contender Until He Went Completely Wacko: Did You Hear the Big Sucking Sound? Library.
