I just stumbled across this site. I am not making judgement calls or anything...just posting it as a curiousity.

I be interested in hearing your viewpoints on this.

Odd nitpick - dated August 26 but has DesElms as moderator.

    You know what I think...

People can gripe and moan and complain all they want. But every single person they listed there has helped me in one way or another in working toward my educational goals. Some directly, others indirectly. Some I agree with nearly 100% of the time, others perhaps more like 5%, but their input has been useful and valuable.

So I don't put much stock in what I read elsewhere. I know from my own experience that these folks are helpful.

    Always the bridesmaid...

Dang it, there's ANOTHER hate list I didn't make. What DO these people want from me?

Me neither. I'm just a small fry, a nonentity. :(

    fauss & nosborne,

Well, you guys are not known as being fat, homo, into java enemas or Maori religious rites. I tried to help with 'Faustus' and 'Nosferatu' but...well...you guys are just too prosaic.

Here's my viewpoint. The amusing rantings of someone that's probably an academic fraud. ;)

    Yep,

One of the koolaid drinkers from "Jamesville" that believe degree mills are the way of future!

I'm relatively lean, though I am starting a touch of middle-aged spread. Or at least my wife tells me. But I'll have to work on "homo". With five kids, I'd say I'm a flaming heterosexual.

I like Faustus and Nosferatu (the scariest movie monster ever). You made me go to the dictionary for "prosaic", and I find it has two basic meanings: matter-of-fact and dull. I suppose you mean the latter.

    And you're probably right. Alas!

But on the bright side, they did just post something entitled "Nosborne and Little Fauss" over on military forums, so we're on our way, I think, to being reviled and hated by mills and shills.

    Dr. Fausstus,

Let me get this straight...you intend make nasty posts YOURSELF on the "other site", attacking on us so that we'll be noticed, reviled and hated?

That's BRILLIANT! At LAST, the recognition we DESERVE!

And all legitimate! After all, it's subject to INTERNAL VERIFICATION, right?

It really wasn't me, but I can't say the thought never crossed my mind that it was actually you who made that post. Or, of course, you evil twin Skippy.

I like making my really nasty posts on DI--and many of them are aimed at you!

"Bjorn." Used on the 6th edition, perhaps other, earlier ones.

    That's okay, L.F.

Eventually you will discover that God looks, sounds, and thinks EXACTLY like a little old Jewish fellah.

    Won't YOU be surprised!

Okay. I was wondering how 'Andrew' came out as 'B.'. Trivial pursuits.

I experienced whatever is negative serendipity in seeing that thread while doing a search on something. I saw your name on a post (not you, I see) but wasn't paying attention to what was being said.

I'll be surprised if He doesn't!

But of course, G-d does look, sound and think like an old Jewish fellah!

Jesus was a Jew; Jesus was born approximately 2,010 years ago (which is quite old); Jesus is the same--so we are told by the NT--yesterday, today, and forever; Jesus is by definition an old Jew; Jesus was and is G-d, per the NT, no? Ergo, G-d is an old Jew!

You're stealing one of my favorite lines. I always use this one on my non-Messianic leaning fellow Christians.

One of my favorite parts of the Bible is where Moses, who has just seen the incredible miracles of the L-rd G-d in Egypt, stands majestically before the Hebrews as the armies of Pharoah are closing in, and says something to the effect of "Behold the power of you G-d", and G-d says to him "What are you doing, move forward!" As G-d says that to Moses, I can just hear it in a heavy Jewish accent, a gravelly-voiced old fellow, "What're you doing, don't just stand there, run for it! Oh vey!"

    Fauss,

Your first hint of trouble will be St. Peter addressing you as 'Bubbie.' :)

Damn, my hopes were up (based on beachhoppr's subject line) - I thought that my adoring pubic - um, public - had finally forgotten me after my retirement from higher education.

But noooooooooooooooooo, it seems . . . At the bottom of the article, I was forced (okay, so you can't rape the willing) to endure an attack on - you guessed it, l'il ol' moi.

And, of course, my thoughts changed . . . "How nice," I reflected, "the shills do remember me." And reading what Mr. Degree wrote was nicer than receiving flowers.

But I digress. The key question, of course, is: Who is Mr. Degree? Based on what he said about severl people (including me), I do have a theory. But I'd be curious as to other people's ideas on who this might be. I can tell you two things about who I think he is: (1) He does go back to the Usenet/AED days, and he was a prominent flamer back then (although not recently); and (2) for those whose fantasies run wild, Mr. Degree is not me.

    So, any speculation? :D
