Is there a way to do a spell check when making posts in here?

    Thanks,

As someone whose spelling is often awry, I have, from time to time, pasted a reply (as it grows in length or my eyes grow in weariness) into Word, to spell check. Then, upon finishing the post, I paste it back into the reply box.

Also, if you're the kind of speller who pretty much knows when a word doesn't look quite right and you simply need to easily look it up somewhere, there's this, the free version of which just sits in your system tray and can be popped-up whenever you need to quickly look-up a word.

There are also programs -- many of them free -- that sit in your system tray and will check the spelling of anything that you copy into the clipboard. In other words, write the text in the DI message composition box, then highlight all of it and copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl-C) and then click on the little speller icon in the system tray to launch the program which will then spell-check everything it finds in the clipboard. Once done, you simply accepted the corrections and close the program (back down to the clipboard) and when you paste what's in the clipboard back into the DI message composition box (Ctrl-V), the spell-checked text replaces what's there and away you go.

Such programs are out there... and, again, many of them for free. Do some Googling, or check out the various free software download sites out there. If you can't find anything, let me know and I'll hunt-down a few.

Yea, it's called using what earned you your high school diploma or college degree. :D

Cute, Jimmy. But that doesn't address the most frequent source of spelling mistakes, the dreaded typo! Even if any given brain's neurons fire properly enough to spell that doesn't mean they also fire consistently enough to translate the message to those flyin' fingers. ;)

Oh I was just being contrary. Have a contrary spirit today for some reason. Guess I better back off and leave you and Dr. Douglas alone. ;)

It would be nice though. You could print out copy and redline before posting. I've considered that for editing as I am often interrupted and time ru......

If you are running Firefox, you could try Spellbound
