This is an interesting program and it seems thought out. We are talking about mature adults here as they must have had at least 10 years with IBM. Maybe they'll stay in the classroom longer.

I love that commercial where the guy stands up in front of the science class and tells the kids why he wanted to teach. They class sits in rapt attention. The reality is that kids would be talking and papers thrown and the poor guy would be yelling.

While good teachers are certainly born, gifted teachers rise out of extensive experience. I've seen so many good teachers quit with the first 3-5 years because of all the obsticals and lack of training in the things that mattered -- like planning, organization, management, communication.

It helps that these teachers will be mature, but I've seen lots of mature people enter teaching from a variety of fields only to leave teaching in a short while.

I want this program to work.
