And it's been great. While away, I drew two conclusions regarding all of the disussion about Jamesville. First, I really like DegreeInfo and am glad it exists. It was a great haven for serious posters needing to get away from a.e.d. It provides a rational forum loaded with information about distance learning, and is a valuable resource for anyone interested in this field.

Second, I'm convinced that Jamesville doesn't matter. Not at all. It is populated with people who simply have nothing to say about this subject, except to (a) promote degree mills (a la John Dovelos, plus the whole Knightsbridge crew) and (b) talk about DegreeInfo. Having a "freak show" curiosity about that site is natural, but actually participating in it is mystifying to me.

By the way, Knightsbridge University's mailing address is a post office box, and its physical address is Henrik's house. Please show me one accredited university run out of someone's house!

Glad to be back, and ignoring Jamesville has been nice.:D

    Rich,

I think you must love it. If it does not matter to you then why even read it or better yet why post something like this to get them riled up at you even more?

I think you and some others here, and most of them there are more interested in doing discussion forum battle than discussing distance education.

Welcome back! Though I sometimes (maybe even often) disagree with your opinions, I value your input here.

No, no, no. Please re-read what I posted. I've come to realize how little they really mean during the two weeks I didn't read their shilling board. Get it? That means I'm not interested in responding to them through this board.

As for my interest in DL, I have a Ph.D. in it, and the vast majority of my posts on this and other boards relate directly to the subject. And I'm just getting started. I think you're a little far afield to assert otherwise, thank you very much. But thanks for sharing your judgment.

Thanks. With as much as I've had to say over the years, and with as much vigor as I've stated it, I would be astonished if right-minded thinkers (like you) wouldn't frequently find themselves disagreeing with me!

Being away for a couple of weeks--really away, not even reading--made me realize how valuable DI is and how irrelevant Jamesville is. That's all.:)

This is in keeping with what I wrote here. Now if we could just get everyone else around here to buy in.

Ignore their statements and inane prattle, yes. But the things they do, like the degree mills they create, cannot be ignored. But those can be addressed outside any context containing that stupid board.

These idiots have been saying all they want about me for 8 years. Funny, it doesn't seem to have had any effect. That is worth noting.

I've been at this stuff since I became an education specialist in the Air Force in 1978. I was 18 then, and had just heard about the Regents program. Did it, then spread the word. Got BG6 in 1980 and it's been an avocation ever since.
