I'd like to remind everyone that there are a lot of people who would take advantage of our generosity, and would scam money in the name of relief efforts. If there is any doubt whatsoever, remember that the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army are two organizations that have impeccable records.
Yes - I am seen a few of these pop up pirates as well. I stick with the known good ones. Catholic Charities is also a good move - Personally I stay away from United Way. They have too much overhead.
