From the Chronicle of Higher Education employment section: http://chronicle.com/jobs/id.php?id=0000423133-01&pg=s&cc= Capital Pacific University http://www.capitalpacificuniversity.com/login.html?ext= , a subsidiary of the Capital Pacific Holding, Inc. invites applications for the position of Executive Dean for a new completely online for-profit university. Executive Dean will oversee the development of the new university based on a comprehensive business plan already prepared including full development of the academic plans, degree programs, admission and graduation policies, hiring of full time personnel and accreditation process. The new university (to be named) will focus on offering bachelors and master's degrees mainly in building industry fields: construction management, land planning and development, real estate development, sales and marketing, EIR and governmental approval/ administration. The Business plan calls for application to Higher Education Council of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and Distance Education and Training Council and Licensure by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education.
"Pacific" in Phoenix? Can I sell you some oceanfront property in Arizona? The President has been an executive in the construction industry. The University phone is answered, "Hello, this is Nedda." I've asked the people I talk to at The Chronicle about this ad. They rarely run ads for start-up not-yet-existing schools, so either they made an exception here following an investigation, or it wasn't caught on their radar.
