I usually don’t get involved in these degree mill issues. There are plenty of people here who are real experts, and my opinion is pretty much irrelevant. But this time I find it hard to stay out of it. It turns out that the Dutch government has recently learnt about the severity the degree mills problem constitutes and yesterday it launched an offensive against them. They have been warning about this in all public TV channels, radios, etc…. Until yesterday they simply dismissed they owner of one of those diplomas as an idiot who had been ripped off; from now they are going to face criminal charges (both diploma conferrers and receivers) for fraud, etc… They have set up a site, www.degreemills.nl, that the Dutch public can visit to avoid being scammed. So yesterday while browsing the site I read that an expert was preventing the public against a Buxton University (already referred to in these fora). The most surprising thing to me is that not only they sell degrees but also memorabilia. . Isn’t that something new? An even more imaginative approach to capture customers? What a nerve! :p

Bircham University, so far as I know another total fraud, actually has custom doctorate regalia offered through one of the largest custome regalia companies, The Robe Shop.

    That takes chutzpah!

Buxton has been selling merchandise for years; the same for its predecessors Canterbury and Bridgewater.

Also, I just discovered, through Oak Hall, the largest robemaker in the US.

So, they got to them also!

These mills and shills are getting more clever by the minute.
