From: Linda Christas Advisor, Typical Situation

I was meeting with the pastor of a medium sized congregation this week.

She has three children, and both she and her husband are quite concerned about the influence their public school experiences are having on their attitudes. The children are ages 11, 13, and 15.

The messages they are bringing home have to do with personal survival and, at the same time, boredom with the one size fits all top down curriculum offered in their schools. None of the children feel that their aptitudes, learning style, interests, or skill levels are being taken into consideration. They are all grouped in classes by age as if they were fruit ripening at the same time and in the same way.

All three children are fully tactile in their approach to learning Sitting in classrooms with teachers being driven crazy by students, while they, the teachers, attempt to lecture, is not satisfying the educational goals of either the children or, by extension, their parents.

These children need to touch, handle, and do. (All three are accomplished sculptors. I am not an expert, but their creations are beautiful to my eyes. And to think the pieces have been done so early in life is amazing, all under the guidance of their mother, who is also a gifted sculptor.)

The pastor and her husband have the desire to seek an educational alternative for their children. The children are both parents' top priority in life after each other and, of course, their faith.

All three children are now enrolled in the Linda Christas Reading and Counseling program, and, the pastor is beginning, under the guidance of a Linda Christas master teacher, to put together a stay-at-home schooling experience.

The kids are thrilled that they will no longer be tortured every day by students out of control at their respective schools. I am happy for them.

There are lots of community projects that will bring the children in contact with other positive, energetic students who aren't out to sabotage their teachers' efforts.

And how is this different from a common spam which advertises a product or service? We need Linda Christas testimonials here... why, again?

Mods! isringhouser's violating the TOS even worse than the rest of us sometimes do. Could you please either admonish him/her or just flat-out kill his/her login and then delete this thread?

    Thank you!
