This evening's show is supposed to be Star Trek's final finale. Which series was your favorite?

    Here's how I rank them.

    1. The Original Star Trek
    2. Enterprise
    3. Tie: Deep Space Nine/Next Generation
    5. Voyager

Oh by the way, I preferred Babylon 5 to all of the Star Treks.

I haven't seen every episode of every series but I've seen a bunch of episodes from all of them. While I like them all I probably would agree with you about your #1 pick. I liked the original best, probably because it was a very new sort of show in it's day. It wasn't as well made as some of the later series but it had a lot or originality. I think I liked Voyager more than you did but overall I'd say that my pick for #2 would be any episode with either Jeri Ryan or Jolene Blalock in it. ;)

    1, 2, 3, 5? ;)

I'm guessing Next Generation was your #4 and when you tied it with #3 you forgot to renumber. Got it.

    Anyway... for me:
    1. Next Generation
    2. Voyager
    3. Original
    4. Deep Space Nine
    5. Enterprise[/list=1]Although for me #4 and #5 could be pretty much interchangeable. I mean... I rather disliked DS9, generally; and I probably never really gave Enterprise the chance it deserved. In fact, I'm not sure I've seen more than five or six episodes of it (Enterprise, I mean) all the way through. And I often found myself having to force myself to finish almost any episode of DS9.

Of course, I never really had as much of a chance to watch any of them as much as I might have liked. But at least based on what of them I saw, those, above, are my rankings.

I only watched one -- not even all of one -- Babylon 5 episode... and thoroughly hated it. In fact, I was only watching it that one time -- and only for as long as I could stomach doing so -- because I'd read somewhere that all of its special effects were done using NewTek products... some of which I've been a proud owner since before NewTek was calling itself NewTek (in '90 or '91, as I recall); and its only real product, to speak of, was the original Video Toaster... which was, for those reading here who don't know, a non-linear video editing hardware and software add-on for the old Commodore Amiga... and a killer add-on it was (for its time, I mean)!

    Deep Space Nine!

I have to say Deep Space Nine. They did an excellent job of fleshing out minor characters, making them interesting on their own. And the last season's story arc was just tremendous all the way to the last episode -- the pinnacle of the entire franchise.

I loved DS9, and I hated Voyager. TNG and the Original show were both very good shows. I didn't watch any Enterprise episodes, but I 've read the news reports about that programs doggedly loyal fan base.

Babylon 5 was far more entertaining than any of the Star Treks, but my all-time favorite for Sci-Fi TV is Farscape.

By the way, if you've got any high political aspirations, stay away from Jeri Ryan. I'm just sayin';)

Just like the Olympics. In the case of a tie for second, two silver medals are awarded, but no bronze medal because that would be fourth place.

I enjoyed Next Generation the most. It had characters that I cared about and it seemd to have the best writing.

I would rank the Original Series as kind of a sentimental second, but it was too flawed to be best.

DS-9 and Voyager in kind of a tie behind them. And unfortunately I never watched Enterprise.

I agree with Charles that Babylon 5 was better than any of the Star Treks. I think that it might be the best science-fiction series that I've ever seen, at least of the space-opera variety.

    That made my day!

I agree with you exactly 98% of the time. You're just way wrong the other 2% of the time. :D

    Here are mine:

    1. TNG- Absolutely the best. After year 4, the writing was just incredible. If you have seen the episode, 'The Inner Light', you will know what I mean.
    2. Voyager- I actually liked the series. I thought it was quite good.
    3. TOS- The Old Series- it was ok. The movies were better than the series.
    4. Enterprise- It is good in some parts. Most, blah.
    5. DS9- I never liked it. I tried and tried. Nope.

When is the next movie coming out?

"Space Desk Twenty Nine, the Administration Generation", especially the gripping "Meeting Payroll During Inventory" episodes.

    All thirty two of them!

Stay away? You're taking this DL stuff way too seriously.

In situ, Jeri! B&M all the way.

Trek lives beyond the Paramount franchise, thanks to the efforts of some very dedicated fans.

Check out Star Trek: New Voyages

My personal favorite was Star Trek TOS. TNG comes in second. I could never get into Enterprise or Voyager. DSN wasn't bad - the writing was pretty good and they developed their characters very well. I was bummed when they killed off Terry Farrell.

Rick Berman flubbed it bigtime on the series finale of Enterprise. Very poor writing - he needs to retire! They should have gone out with a bang, but the entire program put me to sleep. They should have looked back on TNG finale and took it from there. I think it was a mistake to use the entire finale as a holodeck program of TNG.

Well - good bye Star Trek. I doubt any more movies will follow as the last one was terrible.

Original series, Next Generation, didn't really ever get into any of the others.

    2. TNG
    3. TOS
    4. Voyager
    5. Enterprise

I have the DVD collection for the first three. What is interesting is how my teenage son (18 years old) is getting into watching TOS.

It is amazing how things just cycle. My 16 year old son has almost the same haircut I had in the late 70's (you know - the Bay City Roller type - lol). -- and he hate rap -- instead he wants me to take him to see The Allman Bros./Lynurd Skynurd -- and he has seen Paul McCartney 4 times already. (we are going to see Chicago/EW&F next month). Whew -- at least the little shit isn't into gang banging crap.

If he moves toward the BeeGees then I'd advise you to seek professional help.
