Does anyone know anything about E. Basil Jackson? A preliminary google search tells me that some of the graduate degrees actually appear legit.
Hi Stephen: Welcome aboard. Use the search function (top right of screen). There's lots of older discussion of Heed. If you can find any up-to-date information on Heed, please post it. Thanks. J.
Ok. I will see what I can find about Heed and post it. In my quest to find out who has the most accredited doctoral degrees, the furthest I've see someone go was a radiation oncologist who had the M.D., Ph.D., and J.D. degrees. Two degree combinations are very common. I was initially intrigued by E. Basil Jackson, but I suppose I will have to throw him off the list. Honorary degrees don't count.
Check out this page: http://www.fritz-thyssen-stiftung.de/05stnds/english.htm They list more multiple doctorates than you can shake a stick at. There's also Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Annemarie Schimmel (http://www.amsscholarship.com/page3.htm) who had doctorates in Islamic Languages and Civilization, History of Religion, just plain History and Theology.
Dr. Bill Cosby has one earned doctorate (University of Massachusetts) and well over one hundred honorary ones. Tony
Diploma mill...Ya think??? Let's see, a website made from a template from an old, outdated version of Microsoft FrontPage. Even outfits like Breyer State can do a better job than this. Tony Piña Administrator, Northeastern Illinois University
Perhaps, but if anyone deserved a "Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr." designation, Annamarie Schimmel would be toward the top of the list, in my view. Her work on Sufism added a much needed page to the study of religious mysticism/spirituality that was sorely missing. marilynd
Re: Heed University/Breyer State Breyer State University is an unaccredited school in Idaho that seems to have some connection with another unaccredited Idaho school called Canyon College. It is located on an Indian reservation, which shields them from the white man's law about unaccredited schools in Idaho. By the way, they cannot enroll Idaho students.
