I am slated to gradute from UOP this August, and will be jumping right into my MBA at George Washington University in September.

Needless to say, I am a bit nervous, but pretty excited. I had to jump through some crazy hoops due to my age and their view of "lack of relevant work experience" I had to take 15 credits of "pre-assessment hours" (6 hours of accounting, 6 hours of finance, and 3 hours of business law) on top of my bachelor's degree requirements, studied my a** off and thanks to the princeton review guide and some GMAT courses at GMU scored a 690 on the GMAT, and interviewed with about 6 different deans and faculty members. I just wanted to say that this seems like nothing to what some people on here have put themselves through, especially those with families that are pursuing degrees while juggling all that and a job, my hats off to you, thanks for the inspiration.

Not once did anyone scoff at the fact that I am earning a degree from UOP, they were impressed that I had worked at the same time as earning all of my degrees. I bartended and waited tables while going to NOVA, Manged a movie theater while going to longwood, and am now working full time as a counselor at UOP while finishing up there.

I now manage a load of over 400 students, and am looking forward to walking across the stage with at least 100 whom I served throughout their entire educational careers, and many who have become my friends. It is a great feeling to know that you have made a difference in someone's life, and I can't wait to see them walk across the stage with their families cheering them on.

I have to say that this board has been an invaluable tool for me and for many students (especially Unixman's thread on CLEPS, which is now part of my signature). Thank you all again for invaluable information, insightful discussions, and of course (uncle janko, Dr. Levicoff to name a few :) the occasional humor.

Well done, Myles. Yours is a great example of both learning and helping others learn through DL. Best of luck to you with your new program.

Wow - 690 on your GMAT's is nothing to scoff about - that is fantastic! That is good enough to get you into Haas (UCB), Stanford, or SCU.

I went to UoP - I found it tougher than CSU-Hayward as you actually had to do the work in groups that were sometimes very marginal. (it forced you to do the work every week).

Congrats on GWU - I heard it was a good MBA program.
