    Good morning!

I remember when the official opening of DegreeInfo was relayed to alt.education.distance back in January of 2001, and I signed up as a member that very first day. Today, I responded to several messages which put me at the 100 message level. I saw that I had thus achieved a new title of Senior Member after 4+ years. I know there have been discussions regarding the shortest time to Senior Member status, but what is the longest time?

    Regards,

    J. Ayers

P.S. How do I learn the secret Senior Member handshake online?

P.P.S. Thanks to DegreeInfo for the forum!

Four plus years is a long time and obviously the longest at this point in time. Of course at anytime, your record could be eclipsed. ;)

I just discovered that I'm listed as a Senior Member.

    I don't understand how this could have happened . . .

Are their any discounts given to Degreeinfo seniors?

    :p

Four years and running and still not a "Senior".

Some of us just age more slowly than others.

To the AARP you are a "Senior" when you hit 50 but to this board you are not "Senior" until you hit 100. I like the board criteria better!

I intend to remain youthful as long as possible not like Rich Douglas et al whom are several thousand or higher!

    Bah :p

There have, in the past, been a few ambitious souls that have tried to achieve senior status by starting several different threads over a couple of days. they usually found that they ran out of things to say and gave up.

Those of us who post 100 times receive "Senior Member" status.

Those of us who post 1000 time receive "Get a Life" status.:D

Those of us who post 3000 receive "hopeless" status. :D

Those who create more than 100 threads in the political forum get the "Jimmy Clifton - Anyone Out There? Thread Award"

Those whose thread creations outnumber replies get the "Orson Irrelevant Thread Award."

Both come with a lifetime supply of thread (and needles).

    ;)

For 5500, I should get a "You-have-too-much-time-on-your-hands" award from Jamesville, whose operator accuses me of this from time-to-time. This, of course, from a degree mill shill who had the time on his hands to start and run his own board!

    Bill,

Those of us who have only posted 10 or so need to be recognized with gold nugget medals also.

On a daily basis, we struggle valiantly and mightily pondering what to say or write which will be of any consequence to you renowned DL experts and aficionados.

We do wish that we could suddenly (and temporarily!) go deaf when a 'millenialist' (1,000 posts or more) says to us newbies: "It is not the destination that matters; enjoy the journey."

Yeah, right! My gray hairs will be white by the time I reach 100, let alone 1000. Sheesh!

Thanks for the forum, though, Degreeinfo creators and managers. You are like none other. Your services are appreciated far and wide.

Btw, does Degreeinfo celebrate its birthdays around here?

Let me know. I will bring the cheese, no wine (the grapevine has it that everyone here is a teetotaler).

I also have a whack-a-mole shtick and have a pretty decent reaction (whack!) time. Although you need no help from the likes of me, someone has to whack the diploma mill shills relentlessly and unceasingly. They keep popping where they are not needed nor wanted.

    Thanks.

I wonder if the "millenialists" on this board have apocalyptic designs.

    Nah, they're probably just antinomians.
