    The "inaccuracies" are interesting:

    1. LaCrosse was never accredited by any legitimate accrediting agency.

    2. If he did any work for his LaCrosse degree, he may be one of the first to do so.

The reporter really should have worked harder at understanding the story (and not just taken the coach's word for it).

When I prattle on about the lack of understanding regarding accreditation, articles like this pop up to confirm it.

The reporter was in over his head.

The comment about prior accreditation made it seem like Lacrosse was at one time really accredited. Bull.

The comment about the coach doing work to earn the Lacrosse degree(s): more bull. (As Tom noted, obviously from the coach.)

The coach sent a resume indicating a degree (from UTSA) he didn't have....in "haste"? What does being in a hurry have to do with telling the truth? That alone should be sufficient cause to dismiss him.

Why should anyone believe the coach's story about the degree he nearly earned? He's already demonstrated his willingness to lie to gain an advantage; is there any countervailing evidence to indicate he's telling the truth (this time)?

To the degree mill shills: Note that Lacrosse is/was legally entitled to award degrees, yet this guy lost his job over it. State licensure/approval simply isn't sufficient. These aren't "alternatives"; they're stupid decisions. The coach got caught.

Ironic that the coach finally went and got his degree. Gee, what prompted that?

  4. Wonder where that Arkansas reporter got HIS degree...

Interesting as the story is, the writing and style is simply insipid. One of the more poorly written articles I've ever read in a professional publication. It reads more like something you might see in a high school newsletter from the student council.

Yes, a much better article. Now we see not only did he not earn a UTSA degree, he's been lying about having one for years. Then he tried to cover it up with a Lacrosse degree? What an idiot. (Or not; lying about his credentials had worked for him for a long time.)

We also see that he's lied about his collegiate athletic experience, and he's behind on child support payments.

His attorney sounds like a fighter, and is shaping this as best he can. But saying there was no fraudulent activity is ludicrous, seeing that his client sent in a resume with a degree he didn't have. Those things aren't errors of omission; the degree got on the resume because his client put it there. Revising it later is like un-ringing a bell.

    What a nice guy.

  6. Just another example of someone not wanting to accept responsibility for one's own actions, and then trying to blame it all on "the man" later on....

May his child-support delinquent lying academic fraud a** rot in degree mill hell.
