    Obviously it is part of the grand conspiracy by the RA, the Republicans, and Frank Sinatra to keep the higher education monopoly intact. :D

    I liked the use of the term “confidence trickster.” I also heard it on a “Faulty Towers” episode recently.

    On the serious side, I have never been able to figure out Maxine Asher. If she is a confidence trickster she doesn’t look like a very good one. She apparently lives a very modest lifestyle and the financial statements we received didn’t reflect large revenues.

    One of my favorite stories associated with Dr. Asher is her contributions to science and world history, finding the lost city of Atlantis. Perhaps it's an indication of ignoring the positive academic contributions?
