Birthday present from Mariah about ten years ago.

What is it called and what does it do? (It's about 16 inches long.)

A free copy of either the forthcoming degree mills book, or last year's Not Your Mother's Cookbook: unusual recipes for the adventurous cook to he or she who first posts the right answer here. Decision of the judge is final.

The large box goes around the waist, as it has the attachement to go on a belt. I think a gun type of some sort (that is how we are in northern california!).

Don't have a clue what it does.

    We need a hint......

Yes, the box clips on a belt. But it is not a gun of any sort, although I wouldn't want to try to take one through airport security. Nor it is a corkscrew.

How about an old fashioned Klingnon disruptor? Used to vaporize enemy soldiers.
